Free breast screens in Pakenham

The BreastScreen van is coming to Pakenham from Monday, 31 May to Friday 18 June offering free breast screens.

For those over 50, breast screens are the best way to detect cancer early—before there are symptoms and when treatment is likely to be most successful.

There are over 6,200 eligible residents in Cardinia Shire who haven’t had a breast screen (2017-19 participation data). For locals, the van provides an opportunity to have a screen in a convenient location with friendly staff.

Even if your last screen had a normal result, it's important to have a breast screen every two years.

You don't need a GP referral or a Medicare card, it's with a female radiographer, and only takes 10 minutes. The BreastScreen van has safety measures in place to protect against the risk of COVID-19.
