BreastScreen Victoria achieves Rainbow Tick again

The BreastScreen Coordination Unit (BCU) and Mobile Screening Service has been awarded the Rainbow Tick for the second time—receiving accreditation for the next three years.

The Rainbow Tick is a quality framework for health and human services organisations to demonstrate that they deliver LGBTI+ safe and inclusive services. Owned and developed by Rainbow Health Australia, the Rainbow Tick is designed to build lasting LGBTI+ inclusion.

CEO Terri Smith said, "We are delighted to receive Rainbow Tick accreditation once again. The Rainbow Tick is an important way to ensure our service is welcoming, inclusive, and safe for our LGBTI+ and trans and gender diverse clients."

The Rainbow Tick accreditors echoed this sentiment, commenting, "BreastScreen Victoria demonstrates a strong commitment to inclusion, celebrating diversity, and enabling safe services and programs to their target groups."

BreastScreen Victoria  is proud to work with members of our LGBTI+ Regional Network Group, consumers and community partners to receive feedback and improve our service to better meet the needs of our LGBTI+ clients.

We were previously awarded the Rainbow Tick in March 2019, a first for a breast screening service in Australia. Receiving accreditation again is an important endorsement of the continuous work taking place to ensure LGBTI+ people, both clients and staff, feel welcome, comfortable and safe at BreastScreen.
