Free breast screening van is back at Dandenong Palm Plaza

The BreastScreen Victoria mobile screening van will be at Dandenong Palm Plaza fromTuesday 18 October to Friday 28 October 2022, offering free breast screens(mammograms).

If you’re a women aged 50-74, you should have a breast screen every two years. Breast screens are the best way to find cancer early—before any symptoms develop, like pain or lumps.

The van provides an opportunity to have a screen in a convenient location with friendly staff. COVID-19 safety measures will be in place to protect both the community and staff.

All breast screens are free, take 10 minutes and are done by a female radiographer. No doctor’s referral or Medicare card is required.

Free language support is available to help you screen. If you need an interpreter, please let us know when you book.

BreastScreen Victoria’s CEO Rita Butera encourages eligible people, 50–74 years of age from Dandenong and surrounds to screen on the van while it’s at Palm Plaza.

“We have two mobile screening service vans that travel around the state throughout the year. Our visit to Dandenong Palm Plaza is aimed at ensuring all women have access to potentially life-saving mammograms," said Ms. Butera.

“The vans use the same high-quality digital radiography machines as our permanent clinics so everyone can get the best possible care.”
