Our team says ‘Welcome’ in their mother tongues

Radiographer next to mammogram machine.

To mark International Mother Language Day today, we share just some of the languages spoken by a few of our fantastic team members at BreastScreen Victoria. In a short video, they say ‘Welcome’ in their mother tongue to extend a warm reception to all members of our diverse communities to BreastScreen Victoria.

The languages in this video are Cantonese, Arabic, Gaelic, German, Mandarin, Serbian, Filipino, Italian, and Greek. A huge thanks to everyone who participated.

We are proud to work with many dedicated people and organisations around Victoria to support diverse community members to understand the importance of screening and improve their access to a culturally safe and inclusive breast screening service.

International Mother Language Day is a worldwide annual observance to promote linguistic and cultural diversity awareness and multilingualism.
