New Pakenham BreastScreen clinic opens

A new BreastScreen Victoria clinic has opened in Pakenham, providing more breast screens to clients in the local area.

Pakenham BreastScreen is located at 20 Main Street, Pakenham, VIC 3810. The clinic’s convenient location close to shops and cafes means clients can tie their breast screen in with a shopping trip!

The new site will make more breast screens available in Pakenham and the surrounding areas, where a portion of the community has not returned for this important, regular health check since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

BreastScreen Victoria worked with local consumers to provide feedback and advice on the new clinic, to make sure we put clients first in our decision-making.

Our Consumer Representative Kelly said: “I enjoyed being involved in the development of the Pakenham clinic by sharing my views and suggestions about making the clinic a great space for clients.

“Breast screening is very important for every woman aged 50 years and over, because 1 in 7 women in Victoria will develop breast cancer in their lifetime, and most women with breast cancer do not have a family history of the disease.

“Now the new Pakenham clinic is opened, it is even more convenient for us to get a breast screen.”

The Pakenham clinic will be the 44th BreastScreen Victoria clinic is the state and is the first time a fixed BreastScreen clinic has been located in the area.

The new clinic has plenty of free allocated parking and is accessible by public transport via nearby bus routes and Pakenham train station, which is a 15 minute-walk.

Like all our clinics, Pakenham BreastScreen has state-of-the-art facilities and caring and highly-qualified staff, and offers the latest digital imaging technology.

We look forward to welcoming clients to our new Pakenham clinic for the next regular breast screen.
