What happens at your screening?
Find out if you are eligible for free breast screens and what happens before, during and after a screen.
Before screening
Talk to your family about your family history of breast cancer and family and personal history of ovarian cancer. Complete your registration form online or in paper form. Wear a top with trousers or a skirt. See your doctor first if you have breast symptoms.

At screening
Our female staff will explain what will happen. You will be asked to remove your top in private. Ask us if you would like a gown. The machine will press firmly but should not hurt. You can ask for the breast screen to stop at any time.

After screening
Your results will be sent to you in 2-4 weeks. We will contact you if more tests are needed. Most clients who are called back for more tests don’t have breast cancer.
