Today, the Monash Reading and Assessment Service celebrated the official opening of its newly redeveloped clinic. To mark the occasion, BreastScreen Victoria and Monash Health staff, attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony, clinic tour and afternoon tea, with speakers recognising the team's efforts throughout the redevelopment.
Nicole Mitchell, Acting CEO BreastScreen Victoria, said:
“It is wonderful to celebrate this newly redeveloped space at our Monash Reading and Assessment Service. It is clear to see that the design of this clinic has thoughtfully incorporated natural light, calming textures and colour to create a welcoming environment for clients, many of whom are navigating the uncertainty that can come with being called back to have further tests."
“The redevelopment was supported through the Victorian Government’s 2022–23 state budget investment of an additional $20 million over four years to expand our service reach more women across the state.”
One of the most significant improvements is the redesigned waiting area, creating a more welcoming and comfortable experience for clients from the moment they arrive.

"It's so lovely to be here to be celebrating the opening of our lovely new clinic space, which certainly provides a more calm atmosphere with the connection to the environment, which is a great new atmosphere for women and their support people who are coming to our assessment clinic."
The refreshed clinic reflects a broader commitment to providing welcoming environments and high-quality care for clients across Victoria, ensuring every client feels supported, comfortable and confident throughout their screening and assessment journey.
