BreastScreen Victoria commends Channel 9 Today show host Lisa Wilkinson and newsreader Georgie Gardner for having a breast screen on live television this morning.
BreastScreen Victoria CEO Vicki Pridmore said a free breast screen every two years is the best way to find breast cancer early before any symptoms are noticed and when treatment is likely to be most successful.
“Lisa's story becomes even more powerful because her reason for putting it off - that she is so busy and made other things a priority - is the same story of the 70% of Victorian women who are not screening as often as they should,” Ms Pridmore said.
