Supporting Newly Arrived and Immigrant Women to Access Cancer Screening

BreastScreen Victoria, PapScreen Victoria and Cancer Council Victoria invites settlement workers, health, community workers and managers to a workshop to increase knowledge and awareness of the importance of cancer screening and prevention.

A workshop to be held on August 6 will explore the role of mammograms, pap tests and bowel cancer screening tests for newly arrived or immigrant women.

This is a free workshop with lunch and refreshments.

Breast Screen Victoria, PapScreen Victoria and Cancer Council Victoria provide small grants of $750 to support CALD services to integrate screening messages into their work via health promotion events.

An additional workshop for those who wish to apply for a grant will be held on August 20 from 9.30am to 1pm.

Organisations that have not participated in the training previously will be required to have staff attend both days to be eligible for a grant.
