62 year old local breast cancer survivor Ruth Cain is a firm advocate of the importance of regular mammograms, as she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005.
“I was so busy that I had to cancel my scheduled appointment for a mammogram. It was my colleague who reminded me to rebook, and I’m so glad I did,” said Mrs Cain.
“I was diagnosed with breast cancer and opted for a full mastectomy on my right side, followed by a course of radiotherapy.”
Ruth encourages local women to be vigilant and look after their health.
