Nina, BreastScreen Victoria’s mobile screening service will roll into Kerang next month. Radiographers aim to screen 1140 local women before the service leaves on March 26.
Kerang woman Sharon Champion found a lump on her breast during a self-check last year and has since undergone a lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy following her breast cancer diagnosis.
“Early detection is so important, anything like this is a health issue for the whole community, we need to be aware of changes in our bodies,” Ms Champion said.
The mother of two encourages local women to prioritise their health and make an appointment.
