Funding boost for breast cancer survivors

Indigenous breast cancer survivors will be approached for their views on initiatives aimed at improving the lives of women with the disease.

The Federal Government is giving $430,000 to Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) to continue a program that allows survivors to share their insights with researchers, clinicians and policymakers.

Health Minister Greg Hunt said the latest rollout will be particularly focused on supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse women.

"It is critical to support cancer survivors translate their lived experience to improve diagnosis and treatment of others," Mr Hunt said on Sunday.
