Ambassadors

Our ambassadors promote the importance of screening in the community.

We know that people are influenced by a range of factors to book a breast screen including the recommendation of a GP.  For many, it is the experiences of others that encourage them to make an appointment.

By sharing their experiences with others in their community, ambassadors help us to ensure all eligible Victorian aged 50–74 attend a free breast screen every two years.

Our ambassadors help to promote the importance of regular breast screens through opportunities that include:

  • Attending community events to talk to others about screening
  • Speaking with local media about their local clinic or mobile screening service
  • Sharing their story which may be used in our publications and online
  • Providing feedback on our policies and publications

Each ambassador is supported by our staff and provided with briefings and support material so that they always feel well equipped.

We are committed to ensuring our services are inclusive and accessible to all eligible Victorians over the age of 40. To help reflect the diversity of our clients we are always eager to recruit ambassadors from different communities. If you would like to help promote breast screening with your peers you can use the ‘Get in touch’ button at the bottom of this page.
