Education Activities

Cancer Australia has developed a number of educational resources for primary care regarding the appropriate referral for women with breast symptoms an/or family history of breast cancer.

Cancer Australia has developed six evidence-based online modules in collaboration with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM). The modules, which are hosted on ACRRM’s online learning platform RRMEO, address various aspects of the care of women diagnosed with breast cancer including:

  • How not to miss a breast cancer – the triple test in practice
  • Breast cancer diagnosis – what now?
  • Breast cancer treatment – managing the impact
  • Breast cancer treatment is over – what now?
  • Breast cancer in the family – what does it mean?
  • The younger woman with breast cancer – what do I need to know?

Each module takes approximately one hour to complete, and has been accredited with the following professional colleges:
* ACRRM for one Core Continuing Professional Development point
* Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Quality Improvement and Continuing Professional Development Program (QI&CPD) for two Category 2 points
* Royal College of Nursing, Australia for one Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hour as part of RCNA’s Life Long Learning Program (3LP).

Registration is free through this link.
