New Breast Screening Clinic and Training Centre Opens in Moorabbin

Minister for Health David Davis officially opened BreastScreen Victoria's Radiographer Training Centre and Moorabbin BreastScreen Clinic on Friday 2nd December 2011.

"The clinic will provide more than 8,000 BreastScreen appointments every year to women in Moorabbin and surrounding suburbs such as Mordialloc, Brighton East, Carnegie and Clayton," Mr Davis said.

"It features new digital technology that enables mammography images to be captured more efficiently and be sent to radiologists over a broadband network.

"The Radiographer Training Centre will provide mammography training and education for BreastScreen Victoria radiographers across the program.

"This ensures women attending screening receive the highest quality care from a well-trained workforce."

The installation of state-of-the-art digital technology in this clinic is part of a planned, state-wide four year roll out, that will be made progressively available to all Victorian women accessing public breast screening services.
